A Leader's Mindset
Apr 21, 2021Feeling confident as a leader is a state of mind.
Or should I say: a state of mindset? π€
Your mindset will either propel your leadership forward or anchor you at your current level.
If you’re feeling stuck or that you may never get tapped for a promotion—check yourself before you wreck your self (advancement):
β
THINK THIS
β NOT THIS
β
People can learn and grow their capabilities.
β People are basically who they are and always will be.
β
We need to be able to pivot and keep our options open.
β We need to be steady and consistent in all situations.
β
I need to gather a variety of information to make my decision.
β I need to gather a lot of information to make my decision.
β
It’s most important that my team learns.
β It’s most important that my team performs.
β
I need to make room for different perspectives.
β I need to make everyone adopt my perspective.
β
I need to make sure something good happens.
β I need to make sure something bad doesn’t happen.
β
What will best serve the business?
β What will best serve the goals I’ve been assigned?
It’s not that either mindset is inherently bad or wrong.
But as an aspiring leader—only one will get you the results and recognition you’re after.
